It is all too easy in life to slither into downbeat expectations and start expecting life to not work out. This is a commonly held view as life, work, money problems and friends can grind you down. But you may take some rather undemanding measures to remember the positive expectations of your younger years.
Be Cheerful in the morning
If you wake up in a foul mood, it's an unpleasant prelude to your day. The tone for your whole day can be established. A smile and being in a good mood not only feels good but encourages your brain to turn out more feel good chemicals, so you feel your mood improve.
Plan Your Time
There is nothing worse than a bad day. Nothing goes without problems, your short term memory implodes or find yourself doing some things more than once. Do a body swerve round this by jotting down your goals for the day first thing. It can take account of what you need to achieve. Even if it is as simple as doing the shopping and cleaning, if you write it down first thing and then mark it done in the evening you'll be aware of a great sense of success.|A dire day seldom seems to get any better. Hassles turn up, things are forgotten and work can easily be repeated. Without some goals this is hard to counter so take 5 minutes each morning to jot down a to do list. Include all you want to achieve even effortless things such as cooking and food shopping. A plan filled with ticks is a real boost to your mood.}
Learn To Focus
Create your aims in the morning and concentrate on the chief things. For some of them it may be useful for you to picture in your imagination actually carrying it out and succeeding. Such as exercising or passing an exam. None of us need to visualize doing the washing! Don't lose sight of the importance of fun and relaxation in your daily activities. Combining them both will give you the best chance of succeeding each day.
Keep a sense of perspective
Events often conspire to stop you achieving what you want to do each day. You can only control yourself, other people and events are often beyond your reach. Recognise this fact and don't sweat it. Avoid the negative emotions such as frustration or irritation as they usually don't move you any further forward.
If you do the best you can with a clear plan then more often than not you will succeed to some degree.
Have An Open MInd
You need to have new experience and challenges in your life. It is so tempting to slip into a routine and stop trying new experiences. Whether it's food, work, television, music, languages or holidays try to vary things and try, taste or do new things.
As the years pass you need to make more effort to maintain a positive attitude. But anyone can do it.
